Man crushed by machine

Workcover is investigating an accident on Monday where a man became trapped in a piece of farm machinery for about 15 minutes.

The 32-year-old started a rotary rake while working at a Muffett Street address in Scone about 11.45am.

Police said while the man was getting into the tractor he was pulled in by a rotary arm on the machine.

His upper torso was trapped and he suffered abrasions to his legs and abdominal injuries.

Emergency services and other workers helped to free the man.

He was treated at the scene before bring transported to Muswellbrook hospital.

He was later airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle in a stable condition.
