RESIDENTS living adjacent to the Upper Hunter River are being advised to keep a watch on rising water levels for the rest of today (Friday).
The State Emergency Service has issued an alert to land owners and farmers living adjacent to the river to relocate and secure farm machinery and irrigation pumps to higher grounds if water levels rise.
Livestock should also be moved to higher grounds.
The alert is a result of continued heavy rainfalls in the Upper Hunter River catchment area.
