Committee formed to fight gas drilling

14 Dec, 2011 03:00 AM
A third public meeting in Baerami about coal seam gas exploration unanimously agreed to form a community association for people in the rural regions north of Wollemi National Park.

The meeting on December 3 attracted 21 participants including Muswellbrook Shire mayor Martin Rush.

It was decided the community association would address not just coal seam gas exploration but other issues that arose for landowners.

An interim committee was formed to write a constitution for the new association.

The committee will have its first meeting tomorrow.
